ICAI has not yet published the September 2027 exam schedule. The registration deadline below comes from ICAI's eight-month study-period rule; the other dates are expected windows based on recent attempts. We update this table when ICAI issues its notification.

Registering for Intermediate and filling the exam form are two separate steps. Confirm every date on icai.org before paying fees.
Who can take the September 2027 attempt
Foundation route
You have cleared CA Foundation and register for Intermediate by 1 January 2027.
- Cleared Foundation in September 2026? Register as soon as your result is out. September 2027 is your first possible Inter attempt.
- Writing Foundation in January 2027? That result arrives after the deadline, so plan for January 2028 instead.
Direct entry route
You can skip Foundation if you are:
- A commerce graduate or postgraduate with at least 55%
- A non-commerce graduate or postgraduate with at least 60%
- A student who has passed the ICSI Executive or ICMAI Intermediate level

- Choose Intermediate registrationSelect both groups or a single group.
- Upload documentsPhoto, signature, and your Foundation marksheet or graduation / ICSI / ICMAI proof.
- Pay the registration fee onlineKeep the receipt and your registration number.
- Fill the exam form laterWhen ICAI opens the September 2027 exam window.

- Intermediate registration stays valid for five years.
- You can write one group or both groups in the same attempt.
- Practical training (articleship) starts once you meet ICAI's current Intermediate pass and ICITSS conditions.
CA Inter September 2027 syllabus and exam pattern
September 2027 follows the ICAI New Scheme: six papers in two groups, 100 marks each, three hours per paper.

Each paper has a 30-mark MCQ section and a 70-mark descriptive section. There is no negative marking.

CA Inter September 2027 FAQs
What is the last date to register for CA Inter September 2027?
1 January 2027. ICAI requires eight months of study after Intermediate registration before the first day of the exam month, so registering after 1 January moves your first possible attempt to January 2028.
I cleared CA Foundation in September 2026. Can I write CA Inter in September 2027?
Yes, if you register for Intermediate by 1 January 2027 after your Foundation result is declared. Students who clear Foundation in the January 2027 attempt get their result after this deadline, so their earliest Inter attempt is January 2028.
Can graduates take CA Inter September 2027 without Foundation?
Yes, through the direct entry route. Commerce graduates and postgraduates generally need 55% and other graduates 60%, and students who have passed the ICSI Executive or ICMAI Intermediate level are also eligible. Check ICAI's current direct-entry conditions before registering.
Should I write one group or both groups in September 2027?
Both groups together is the fastest route, but it means six papers in one attempt. Students who are also in college often do better writing one group first. We help you decide based on your Foundation score and daily study time at the demo session.
Is there negative marking in CA Inter?
No. Each Intermediate paper has a 30-mark MCQ section and a 70-mark descriptive section, and wrong MCQ answers are not penalised.
